We are the oldest independent educational group in Northern Cyprus and have been at the heart of education in the TNRC for over 50 years..

Near East University was founded in 1988 by Dr. Suat Gunsel in Nicosia, and was closely followed by Near East College in 1996. Initially founded with the aspiration to provide an education of the highest quality, the Near East and Dr. Suat Gunsel, Kyrenia organisations have grown and diversified over our 50 years as education providers. However, we have remained true to our original vision and continue to provide education of the highest quality across all our educational institutions.

Cyprus has always been at the cross-roads of European, Mediterranean, Asian and African culture. The British International Program recognises the need for a truly international education on our island that reflects the growing diversification and the ever changing population, society and cultures that make up the beautiful island of Cyprus. We are delighted to be the youngest members of the Near East and Dr. Suat Gunsel Kyrenia groups and are proud to offer a curriculum that provides for our international community and continues this heritage.
